Can my Father drink Coffee after gallbladder removal surgery?
My Father just had his gallbladder removed and is now on a low fat diet.
He has always been a heavy coffee drinker. I’m wondering if he can continue to drink coffee and other caffeine since his gall bladder is now removed. Are they any side effects other than normal now?
I just had mine removed about a month ago now. I am a diet coke fanatic and I was terrified I would not be able to have diet coke again. I started drinking it the day after my surgery and without problems.
Everyone is different and some foods/drinks affect people differently, but I guess you will only know if you try. The worse that could happen is diarrhea and if his coffee is as important to him as my diet coke is to me, its worth a shot.
If his stomach does get upset, tell him to hold off for about a month then try again. They put so many meds in you during the operation, who knows if its his body or the meds reacting.
