Low GI diet and OSP?
I have PCOS and have read online that many women with this condition to start a low GI diet. What a low GI diet? I'm very conscious of etiquette, so they need the same basic information. What eat a low GI diet. What advantages does that the SOP? Does it help me lose weight? I need to lose 30-40 lbs. Any information you can share would be appreciated. If you send me a website please a way that gives easy to follow information because I am a beginner. Thanks in advance
PCOS is a complex issue, and over time, can be divided in three or more depending on the cause (similar to several types of diabetes). In most cases, PCOS is an endocrine problem, not a gynecologist (cysts in the ovaries that are not automatically a diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome, and a woman can have PCOS without cysts). There are several possible causes addition PCOS cysts – such as problems of other endocrine glands like the adrenal glands produce too much cortisol, which can be a problem starting with the loop pituitary feedback (my wife has this). Other women seem to develop insulin hyperinsulineamia (initially too much for the relationship of insulin / glucose) and may cause changes in the ovaries. Some develop diabetes after SOP, and diabetes do not develop at all (like my wife). The glycemic index theory is that some carbohydrates are more complex and therefore take longer to digest, if the rate of blood sugar will peak soon or as high as a food in simple carbohydrates (instead of hills and mountain tops). Because many women with PCOS type 2 diabetes (before or after the development of PCOS), control blood glucose is important. Even without PCOS, a good glycemic control may be important not only in general health, but the fertility and pregnancy in a diabetic. Not necessarily will help you lose weight by itself (calorie count), but weight loss can improve the condition of PCOS is converted to fat because other related with the sex hormones estrogen, so in effect you can have too much estrogen in the estrogen / progesterone, which can cause or aggravate PCOS (plus cause other reproductive problems – such as endometrial hyperplasia, which eventually could develop into cancer of the uterus). The exercise will help both weight loss and symptoms of PCOS, and if you have problems with blood sugar (but not yet diabetic), which will also help. You do not have to run marathons, go for a few minutes walk of 15 or 30 days. If you remember, a good website for PCOS is cybercysters (or something – if my wife was at home I ask).
